DescriptionThis painting showing a woman with her luggage in customs was made ‘close to the studio of Daubigny the landscape painter’ as recollected by Mancini and dates towards the end of his second stay in Paris 1877-78. The model may be Mathilde Duffaud, the mistress of the Italian sculptor Vincenzo Gemito (1852-1929).
