DescriptionThis is a self-portrait of the artist Antonio Mancini, smiling at the viewer. It shows his head and shoulders framed in an oval. His right hand is jutting forward as if he is actually engaged in drawing the oval. He is wearing some form of headscarf tied in the front. The face and hands are executed in red chalk and highlighted with white chalk and charcoal. Half of his face is in very dense shadow and it is possible that he has a moustache. On View
