DescriptionThis watercolour shows a townscape of the fishing town of St. Ives. The tide is out and there is a boat in the centre lying on the sand close to the docks. There are two and three storey houses stretching in a curve into the middle distance. In the immediate foreground is a wooden ramp onto the sand. The colours in the painting are warm light browns, oranges and pale yellows.
