DescriptionMother and Child along the Scheldt demonstrates Van Miegham’s skills as a draughtsman. The mother and child, a regular motif in Van Miegham’s works, sit in front of the River Scheldt with the Antwerp skyline in the background. The docks of Antwerp and the people who lived and worked there remained central to the artist’s work throughout his career.
