DescriptionThis intaglio print (etching) shows an interior of a room. The walls are stone and the ceiling beams are exposed. There is a wooden door in the corner of the room. The only source of light is a single candle on a wooden table in the centre of the room. Around the table are three men sitting on simple wooden chairs. The men are all bearded and look poor. A woman leans over the table from the back: the light of the candle obscures what she is actually doing. There is only one glass and a piece of bread on the table.
