DescriptionThis is a Victorian street scene showing a street in the Piccadilly area of London. There are a number of horse drawn carriages moving up and down the street. The footpath is teaming with people and among them is a soldier in a red coat and black trousers in the foreground. The view extends into the distance until the buildings become hazy. The painting has many impressionistic qualities.
