DescriptionCountess Feodora Georgina Maud von Gliechen was the eldest daughter of Prince Victor of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, half-nephew of Queen Victoria. She studied at her father's studio at St. James's Palace and later with Alfonse Legros at the Slade School of Art. She completed her studies in Rome in 1891. A regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy since 1892, she was awarded the Legion d'honneur shortly before her death in 1922. She was later post-humously made the first woman member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors.
