DescriptionThis print shows a group of marchers walking in a tight circle in a confined geometrical space. Only the extreme outline of the figures is visible, with three figures in the middle distance and a single figure in the foreground standing out from the crowd. The rest of the figures are so closely packed together that individuals are indistinguishable. The figures have no features and have been coloured in in pale grey-blue. Through the use of tonal difference, the artist has given the impression of walls surrounding the marchers, as if they are in a prison exercise yard. The two sidewalls and the ground are coloured in in the same grey-blue, while the wall at the far end is a slightly lighter shade of grey blue than the side walls, but not as light as the colour used for the marchers.
