DescriptionThis painting divided into seven sections. Three panels at the top show a repeated image, possibly a photographic reproduction, of a group of people marching. The marchers stretch diagonally across the picture plane from top right to bottom left. The first panel is coloured red, the second baize and the third red. In the middle are two panels, again showing another repeated image of group of people marching, with four isolated figures standing in close proximity to the marchers. This time the marchers only occupy the lower left corner of the panels, crossing the picture diagonally. The first panel is coloured grey blue and the second is red. On the bottom of the painting are two further panels; one is blacked out, while the other shows the cropped lower section of the image in the middle panels. This panel is coloured grey blue. The entire composition and technique is in the vein of Andy Warhol's (1927-1987) silk-screened images of Marilyn Monroe.
