DescriptionAgainst a background of Venetian palaces and a canal, this painting shows three figures on an elaborate gondola. To the left a gondolier wearing a hat supports an oar; to the right two women, one in a pink evening gown, the other in blue, rest against a balustrade. In front of them is a footstool. Dark red cloth covers the ground.
