DescriptionThe portrait painter Seán O’Sullivan portrayed many of the leading figures of his day including Maud Gonne MacBride, Eamon de Valera and James Joyce. This view of the poet, painter, writer and activist George Russell on his deathbed was made by O’Sullivan a day after Russell had died in Bournemouth.
