DescriptionA painter of landscapes, genre, portraits and religious subjects Francis O'Donohoe studied in Dublin and in Paris at the Academie Julian. He first exhibited at the RHA in 1899. On 23 December 1923 the artist was killed in a motor car accident. A committee was formed shortly afterwards to organise a memorial to the artist and included the artists Oliver Sheppard, William Orpen and Sarah Cecilia Harrison. (JO'D)
