Description"The picture 'Faith, Hope and Charity,' which Mr Watts intended for this Gallery, was selected by him for Dublin, in June 1904. It represents Faith, encouraged by Hope and inspired by Love, about to sheathe her sword as she cleanes her blood-stained foot in a stream, and turns from the sight of the smoking ruins - the signs of her handiwork through the land." Sarah Cecilia Harrison, Municipal Gallery of Art Illustrated Catalogue, 1908.
