Description'13 Women' is a collaboration between the performance artist Amanda Coogan, and film-maker Paddy Cahill. It reveals a live performance by Coogan in collaboration with thirteen performers, performed at Hugh Lane Gallery in September 2013. The performance explores the Church Street disaster of 1913 which impacted on discussions around establishing a home for the Hugh Lane collection. Coogan’s performance made parallels between these and contemporary Irish society. '13 Women' took place over 12 hours and is one of Cahill and Coogan’s explorations into the possibilities for re-presenting durational live performance in moving image. Cahill captured the entire 12-hour performance using time-lapse photography resulting in an 8-minute film with sound design and composition by Mike Glennon.Artist: Amanda Coogan
