Niamh O’Malley is originally trained as a painter, but frequently works with video, glass, wood and steel to make objects that create a landscape of forms. In recent years, her interest in the medium of glass has expanded. Rather than treating glass as an invisible obstruction, O’Malley draws attention to its physicality. Shelf was produced in conjunction with O’Malley’s representation of Ireland at the Venice Biennale 2022.
