DescriptionThis gouache work depicts a head and shoulders portrait of a woman facing the viewer. She is wearing an olive green v-neck top and a red turban. Her red curly hair protrudes out from under the turban at the back. She is framed inside an oval shape in the background and in turn this is framed in an orange rectangle. The orange framing is outlined in red. The framing does not have a consistent width, the bottom part of the picture having quite a wide trim of orange. This bottom section appears to be a reworking of the piece, as the green of the woman's clothing is visible below the orange framing.
