Brian Bourke

Born in Dublin in 1936 has been recognised as one of Ireland's most significant contemporary artists since the 1960s. He spent brief periods in Art College preferring to study independently. Landscape and the figure, and in particular the portrait have been his main subject matter. He has an individual style characterised by his strong use of colour and the irony and humour with which he presents his world.
