DescriptionA painting of a townscape, the town of Bosham in Chichester Harbour, West Sussex, England, with the spire of the Holy Trinity Church in the middle distance set against a blue and slightly cloudy sky. In the foreground standing in a street is a young girl in a white First Communion dress advancing towards the viewer. Behind her and coming from the church grounds are a group of people. One woman, in an olive green dress and a black hat, has left the crowd and is heading purposefully to the right. The houses on the left and right are typical one-storey country dwellings with a white façade and red roof tiles.
