DescriptionThis is a relief print (wood engraving) on paper, depicting a saint in a small boat with a dove (holy spirit) above their head and a leaping fish in the foreground.

Based in Dublin, Elizabeth Rivers trained at Goldsmiths' College of Art, at the Royal Academy Schools 1925-30, and in Paris 1931-34. She exhibited widely including works at the RA, RBA, NEAC and London Group and prolifically in Ireland.
