DescriptionWalter Osborne painted the street life around St Patrick's Cathedral, and the market on Patrick Street on several occasions. This interior view of St Patrick's Cathedral is one of a number he made capturing the quiet atmosphere of figures gathered in hushed contemplation in an interior setting. Influenced by the French Impressionists, Walter Osborne was a master at depicting dappled sun-light, here seen falling through windows onto the gothic architecture and two young boys, perhaps choristers, as they go about their duties.
