DescriptionIn the foreground are a copper dish with grapefruit and oranges, one of which Mars holds in his hands as he lies on the bank of a river and leers towards Venus. To his right and with her back turned to the viewer, Venus reclines naked. Two warriors attend on them, while in a river in the background there are women bathing.
