DescriptionJulie Merriman explores the conventions of drawing languages by investigating the historic and contemporary aspects of areas such as architecture, engineering, science, cartography and mathematics. Construction II (Bridge) and Construction III (Bridge) were commissioned as part of Dublin City Council’s Public Art Programme and shown in her 2015 solo exhibition Revisions at Hugh Lane Gallery. These two drawings are based on site visits and information on the construction of the Rosie Hackett Bridge over the River Liffey in Dublin.
