DescriptionEithne Jordan’s work ranges from early Expressionist paintings to still-life, landscape, interiors and the urban environment. Mansion I is one of her later works which depicts a contemporary view of Aldborough House, Portland Row, Dublin 1. This painting is part of a series of works that interrogate the urban landscape, particularly of Dublin, which often capture Jordan’s attention during her walks around the city. Early dawn light, the geometry of architecture and the contemporary street topography with no sight of occupants in these recognisable scenes question our constant presence outside.
