DescriptionThis painting is a landscape scene of the Lledyr (Lledr) river valley near Betws-y-Coed, North Wales. In the near foreground are rapids and a number of large rocks, strewn across the riverbed. The middle ground comprises of tress and shrubs in various shades and tones of green and brown, while in the background can be seen the peak of a mountain. The mountain is mauve coloured and surrounded by murky clouds.

The Lledr river is one of the three tributaries associated with the River Conwy in North Wales.
