DescriptionThis pastel shows a man leaning against a wooden doorframe. The man is dressed in medieval costume. He is wearing a mauve cloak, a baize garment and light grey boots. He is holding a long staff, with some small branches attached to the top, in his left hand. He appears to be listening secretly to something as his head is pressed against the wooden doorframe. In the background are green trees and a light brown coloured sky is visible in the distance. The style of the work is typical of the Pre-Raphaelite School.
