DescriptionBy deciding to become a painter, Walter Osborne was following in the footsteps of his father William Osborne, a painter of animals, notably dogs and horses. Walter Osborne was a great portraitist especially when painting family, friends and children. This light filled drawing is a superb example of the artist's skilled handling of pastel and skill in obtaining a likeness. (JO'D)
