DescriptionIt was Shawe Taylor who took down the photograph of a Meszoly painting in the National Museum of Ireland which had been placed there by the Director in 1905 in order to damage Hugh Lane's reputation as a connoisseur in Dublin. In 1902 Shawe Taylor succeeded in bringing landlords and tenants together to discuss agrarian problems. Following this meeting the Land Act of 1903 was introduced.
