DescriptionPeter Beard was a renowned American artist working primarily in the medium of photography. His publications included The End of the Game, which raised awareness of the necessity of an enlightened approach to the conservation of the African terrain and its wild life. Peter Beard became a close confident of Francis Bacon following meeting in 1965 after the London launch of Beard’s book. There are several hundred photographs by Peter Beard in Hugh Lane Gallery’s Bacon Archive including wild life images and portraits of both Bacon and Beard. On View
