DescriptionThis is a full-length standing figure of a young girl holding a flower in her left hand. This figure, which possibly represents the Motherland, was intended to occupy the central niche of 'Le Débarquément' (The Arrival) Monument, which was an unexecuted project for a war memorial for Washington, D.C. O'Connor worked on the project from 1918 to 1931 even though he was probably never commissioned to do so. A large model was created, but was subsequently destroyed.
