DescriptionA barrister and Nationalist politician T.M. ‘Tim’ Healy (1855-1931) represented the employers at the Askwith Tribunal investigation into the Lockout. This was held at Dublin Castle in October 1913. While he did a fine forensic job in exposing weaknesses in the trade union arguments he confided to his brother Maurice that William Martin Murphy was ‘up against a theory, which however erroneous will render Larkin immune from unpopularity in his defeat. The nationalists of yore cared nothing for defeat. Dublin has ceased to be the capital for Redmondism.’
